Routine Services
- Free out-patient space in which to conduct direct/active research subject protocols with specific clinical requirements
- In-Patient Scatter-bed overnight stays at Jackson Memorial Medical Center (staffing and space availability permitting) in order to conduct your direct/active research subject protocol with specific clinical requirements
- Professional registered nursing services for adult research subjects for V/S, Ht., WT., phlebotomy, IV Infusions, Administration/Dispensation of all types of medications and/or other research products/materials, complex/simple specimen collections/sampling, conducting appropriate health history assessments, and providing assistance with physical examinations and other appropriate duties. Direct hands-on pediatric nursing services are limited and may require the principal investigator to provide training.
- Basic assay spinning, separation, and short-term storage or campus-wide delivery.
- Professional nutritional and routine dietary assistance and assessments for individual protocols requirements by consultation and/or with direct research subject needs.
- Professional bio-statistical assistance for protocol statistical reviews and consultations. (This position is TBA)
- Professional systems informatics assistance for protocol informatics data systems reviews and consultations.
- Use of patient care associates that are certified as medical assistance and in phlebotomy for appropriate research duties for their certification.
- Administrative personnel to facilitate and coordinate the use of GCRC facilities and services for approved protocols.
Equipment
Refrigerated table top Beckman centrifuge, otoscopes, electric exam tables, a standard hospital bed, thermometers, 12 lead EKG (interpretative), minus 20 freezer, specimen and medication refrigerators, minus 80 degree freezer for short-term sample storage, automatic and manual blood pressure machines, IV Infusion pumps, television with VCR for research/educational uses and a computer server for your projects informatics needs.
Ancillaries
Routine and/or non-routine supplies, pharmacy services, radiological, clinical testing/procedures, MRI's, laboratory (chemistry, immunology, hematology, virology, drug/toxicology, microbiology) etc. NOTE: The aforementioned are only funded through the GCRC after approval from GCRC General Advisory Committee (GAC) based on merit and availability of funds.
Pilot Studies
The GCRC is available to conduct qualified research pilot studies after GAC approval.
Training and Development
The GCRC is available for qualified students, post-doctorate, mentorship programs, and other research-specific educational purposes. |
